Being a part of the food ministry, whether, packing the boxes or actually giving them out, gives you an opportunity to serve. The Bible talks about in James; religion that is pure. To have pure religion - James says is to visit orphans, widows and the afflicted. By doing these things, you are serving others without looking for anything in response, because they have nothing to give, you don't expect anything.

 

Also by serving, you get blessed. There is food available to you and you leave knowing that you've impacted people’s lives by loving them.
